What does YouTube Transcript Sync do?+
It adds a transcript sidebar to YouTube videos so you can read the transcript next to the player, follow along with synced highlighting, and click any line to jump to that timestamp.
What can I do with the free version?+
The free version includes the transcript sidebar, synced highlighting, click-to-seek, timestamp toggle, available caption language switching, and auto-translated tracks when YouTube provides them.
What does Pro unlock?+
Pro unlocks full transcript copy, TXT / Markdown / JSON export, and sending transcripts to Notion, along with future export enhancements.
Is Pro a subscription or a one-time purchase?+
Pro is a one-time purchase. Pay once and use it forever — no subscriptions or auto-renewals.
How much does it cost?+
The regular price is $19 USD. The first 100 users get an early-bird price of $9. The final price is always shown before checkout.
How do I activate Pro?+
Click "Get Pro" on the pricing page and complete the purchase. Pro features activate automatically — no extra steps needed.
Where do the transcripts come from?+
Transcripts come from the caption tracks available on the current YouTube video. If a video has no captions, captions are disabled, or YouTube has not provided any tracks, the extension cannot display a transcript.
Is auto-translation always available?+
No. Auto-translation depends on what YouTube provides for each video. The extension shows available languages but cannot guarantee translations for every video.
How does the Notion integration work?+
When you trigger "Send to Notion," the extension sends the transcript text to an open Notion page. If no Notion page is available, it opens Notion so you can continue.
Does it read my YouTube account or watch history?+
No. The core functionality only reads caption data and playback state from the current video page. The extension does not access your YouTube account, subscriptions, or watch history.
Can I get a refund?+
You can request a refund within 14 days if the product does not work as described and we cannot resolve the issue. Contact support@ideaguard.dev. Refund eligibility follows the policy in our Terms of Service.
Is this extension affiliated with YouTube?+
No. YouTube Transcript Sync is an independent browser extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube or Google.
